rather than前后的动词形式一致,但这里的动词所做的句子成分也必须是一致,不然没有可比性.
instead是副词,意思上和but相似,都是表示转折,但用法不同,but用在整个句子前面,作为前后句子的链接,也就是作连词,而instead一般放在整个句子末尾,修饰后半个句子.
instead of是短语,后面显然是接动词的ing形式,表示前后两个分句的对比,它放在前面分句和后面分句都有.
rather than，前面的动词形式是什么，后面的动词形式必须和前者一样。
而instead of ,因为of是介词，所以后面的动词需要加doing形式。
这两个短语的意思上没有太大的区别。
